| | sometimes i feel completely overwhelmed by all the problems in the world. i truly think the world is beautiful, but at the same time there are so many attrocities occuring every day. so many people are suffering and i worry that there will never be enough time or money to help everyone.
nothing infuriates me more than people who say "we shouldn't help other countries before we help ourselves". there are certainly U.S. problems, but i don't think we can even comprehend the problems that other people face. someone in my history class said this today, and so did one of my good friends in response to the sudan/darfur conflicts. the world is not made up of "us" and "them"s! the world is flat, my friends, we are all a part of the same earth. it makes me so angry to think about how ignorant people can be.
anyway, make it your goal to do something worthwhile for someone today. educate yourself or someone else, donate time or money, doesn't matter. just get out there.
